Sometimes a restless night has its advantages. I was up and down like a yo-yo again. I read for part of the time I was awake, but I also did some research about what we could to with the half day we had left. Originally, I had planned to revisit an old favourite, the Street Life Museum, but felt like I had done enough walking for one weekend. There is a shopping centre across the street from the train station and they have indoor mini golf consisting of two 18-hole courses and a tiki bar. We had not played minigolf for ages, and this looked very good. One of the packages they offered was two rounds of minigolf and a cocktail. This was very tempting.
I was up again for the final time around 07:00. I got showered and dressed. While Graham got showered, I packed my odds and ends. When we were both ready, we went downstairs for breakfast. It was pretty busy that day, but for some reason, they had less of a choice of food that day. Still, they had coffee, juice and cooked breakfast and we are not difficult to please. Over breakfast, I told Graham about the mini golf. He was up for this and thought it was a bit of fun.

After breakfast, we headed up to room to collect our stuff. Then we went downstairs to check out. On a Sunday, the park and ride service does not operate. We therefore headed over to the other bus stop to get the bus into town. We had to wait about 15 minutes for the bus to come, but that was no problem. For a Sunday morning, the bus was pretty busy, but we got seats and did not mind. This time we stayed on until the bus station, which is next to St. Stephen’s shopping centre, which is where we were heading.
I was kind of surprised to find a queue to pay. However, we had plenty of time. We purchased our package and chose what course to do first. Some of the holes were fiendishly difficult. The course was nicely themed around a mystical lost city and some of the holes had special effects. We played both courses back-to-back and then we went to the tiki bar to get our included drinks and to relax.

I had a Tiki La Rosé, which consisted of El Sueño watermelon, rosé wine, citrus, vanilla, and soda. This was lovely and refreshing. Graham had a pina colada. We were in no rush and decided to get another cocktail. This one we had to pay for, but the prices were decent. Graham had another pina colada and I had a mocktail, which was called Mango Fandango. This consisted of cherry syrup, citrus, mango juice and Coca Cola. It essentially tasted like a posh cherry coke, but I did not mind that at all.

When we had finished our second drink, we headed across to the station. We still had some time until our train was due to leave. We went across the train station. There was a Starbucks there and we decided to get a coffee and a cake. Graham had an Americano and a cinnamon roll. I had a pumpkin spice ice chai tea latte, which was delicious. I also had something that I thought was a maple and pecan muffin. It was however the texture of a cinnamon roll. It was not at all what I had expected, but it was delicious.
When we knew that our train had arrived, we headed over to the platform. We had a bit of wait until the train was ready for us. Graham had treated us to first class tickets, which was very civilized. I spent most of the journey reading, but also posted an instalment of my trip report using the train’s Wi-Fi. Time flew. Unfortunately, there were some engineering works on our local tram line, and we had to walk home. We both had a very nice weekend and have decided to do this again before too long.
